Meet Our Board of Directors The
Farm Credit of Maine Board consists of seven directors: six are voting
members elected by the members; one is an outside director (not an eligible
borrower) appointed by the Board. Directors select management and maintain
a check on the progress of the business against a business plan. They
bring valuable industry expertise to the Association. The Board challenges
management, acts on policies and works with management to set strategic
priorities and goals.
In addition to attending six
to eight Board meetings a year, directors have the opportunity to participate
in regional or national public policy discussions or training programs.
Our customer-elected directors are responsible for representing the best
interest of the organization and its borrowers over the long term.
Our election process starts
with a Nominating Committee nominating qualified director candidates for
open positions. Today the Board is comprised of three southern region
directors; two northern region directors; one at-large elected position;
and one outside director position.
