Industry meetings. Trade shows. Public hearings and debates. Special industry, governmental and university task forces. We're there! It's part of how we keep current with the industries we serve.
We also work with our business partners both in Maine and throughout the Northeast and the nation.
- We spend time in Augusta.
- We help legislators understand the issues, especially the financial impact of existing or proposed regulations.
- We have active and on-going relationships with major industry trade groups and key public administration officials working in Maine's agriculture, fishing and forest products industries.
At the national level, we work in close coordination with our friends throughout the national Farm Credit System. We spend time in Washington D.C. helping our legislators better understand the financial issues that our customers face. Our focus is on how the Farm Credit System can better serve its customers in the future.
From time to time, we're involved with constructive public
debates on issues that impact the livelihoods of Maine families and their
businesses. The future of farming, forestry and fishing in Maine depends
on many people all sitting down at the table.
